A new ultra challenge

"The run does not end when crossing the finish line," says ultra runner, firefighter-rescuer, lecturer Aidas Ardzijauskas and 2019 will not stop. This time, the runner’s route stretched from the North Cape (Nordkap, the northernmost point of Norway) to Porto Kagi (the southernmost point of mainland Greece). In 70 days A. Ardzijauskas covered more than 5800 km. This is another challenge that leads to the biggest dream - running around the globe.
If in 2018. running from Dakar was dedicated to the centenary of Lithuania, telling about future plans he wants to remain sincere and can only answer the question of who the runs will be for in a very general way: most of all, I want people to take from this message what seems most relevant to them at the time is the most important. “My goal is to show that there is always the opportunity to do what you want. And at first glance, maybe even impossible things,” says the runner.
It should be emphasized that Aidas Ardzijauskas will run at a fairly fast pace and does it alone. He is in constant contact with his team members and reports regularly on his well-being so that the nutritionist can assess the situation and advise on how to maintain strength and recover properly from the stresses experienced.
Purposeful partnership
By 2019 May 24 our Urbanfood team with its products also gladly contributed to overcoming the ultra challenge that started. During the 70-day run, Aidas consumed a drink specially designed for him, which naturally helped to recover lost minerals, salts, water. "During intense running, electrolytes such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, chloride, sodium are lost, so their balance needs to be restored with proper nutrition," says Gintarė Jonaitytė, a certified nutrition expert, who will create a recipe for a drink for athletes.
"This drink is all I need while running," A. Ardzijauskas assured. He was pleased that his request to use only natural products had been met.
The special drink is made only from natural ingredients - berry powder, salt, silver water and honey powder. “The composition of this drink is completely natural, without any additives or preservatives. This was Aidas's wish, and our goal with Urban food is an innovative product straight from nature, using scientific technologies. We very much hope that we will be able to adapt such a drink and offer it to the general public”, says Gintare Jonaityte about the successful and purposeful cooperation.
As Lithuanian berry powder is rich not only in electrolytes, but also in other microelements (iron, zinc, manganese, copper), vitamins C, B, fructose, this drink is a great help to regain strength during or after running. Also - improves blood circulation, maintains the balance of alkalis and acids, has anti-inflammatory effects.
